KinTrades is rolling out in phases — employers are onboarding now, with worker referrals opening at the August launch. Residents referred by the Department of Family Services and confirmed eligible get the full support package. Everyone else — workers and employers alike — can still join on their own.
For residents referred by the Fairfax County Department of Family Services and confirmed eligible for barrier support. This link unlocks the full support package at launch.
Not referred by Fairfax DFS? You can still be part of KinTrades — barrier support isn’t included on this path, but the platform is open to workers and employers across the region.
KinTrades isn’t a national job board passing through Fairfax. It’s a Virginia-based hiring platform built by people who employ trades workers themselves — for the neighbors, residents, and workers who keep this region running.
Residents are workers with skills — not case numbers. The profile leads with what they can do.
Every placement is within commute. Every wage is real. The network grows from Fairfax outward.
A KinTrades profile stays with the worker. Their pathway doesn’t reset when a program ends.
